Amaroo’s Abundance

MINDO RIVER

Illuminated River Pathway

Water is cleansing, purifying, rejuvenating, and access to fresh water running through the Mindo river is a feature of Amaroo that inspires us every day. We are honored to be stewards of this river, and share it with those visiting Amaroo.

We have refurbished our pathway to the river with LED lights so that we can have access to the spirit of the river day or night; whether to meditate with, take a cold plunge in, or cleanse and recharge in, after Temazcal.

The river holds us in her nurturing arms as there is a natural eddy at Amaroo’s river access point. This allowed us to build a small dam, creating a wading pool for safe enjoyment of the river.

Amaroo Greenhouse

Amaroo is envisions as a self-sustainable sanctuary, this means that we will be producing lots of food from the fertile land!

We constructed a greenhouse to nurture a variety of herbs and plants that thrive in warm/dry climates. This is to compliment the many banana, mango, guava, papaya, and other fruiting trees that thrive in humid and warm climate of Mindo.

Williams Garcia is a blessing to Amaroo and who has been a part of the vision of Amaroo’s construction since we became caretakers of the land.

His gifts in construction, interior design, and principals of sustainability has helped us build Lil’ Amaroo, a new greenhouse, illuminated river pathway, outdoor showers, maloca bathrooms, and more efficiently, with as little additional footprint as possible to the land.

Being local to Mindo and also serving as property manager with Daniela Calvachi, together they are helping to foster Amaroo as the healing center it was meant to be.
