Amaroo: A Beautiful Place

Amaroo Sanctuary is located in Mindo, Ecuador and means “a Beautiful Place” in Australian aboriginal language. In Quechua, Amaru also means snake, a power animal connecting us to our higher consciousness.

In kind, Amaroo is an oasis for healing, a nurturing home for higher states of consciousness to support the spread of indigenous wisdom and activation of our sovereignty, our sanctuary within.

Lil Amaroo: a Mini Oasis

A sanctuary within a sanctuary, Lil Amaroo is the first completed improvement since Amaroo’s purchase in 2021. Designed and constructed by a local friend and contractor, Williams Garcia, this space was built with beauty and tranquility in mind for peaceful integration.

Lil Amaroo is a casita comprised of 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms with skylight showers.

Tucked away from the main house, Lil Amaroo has held space for our families, friends, board of directors, and allowed for maestros indigenous to Ecuador to stay on the property of Amaroo to experience its magic as well as leave their own.

Amaroo Wildlife: Stewards of the Land

Amaroo's 2.5 acres is incredibly fertile, nurturing multiple guava, orange, lime & coffee trees, as well as plentiful banana and cassava plants with lemongrass and ginger roots. The photos below are just a taste of the abundance of wildlife this sacred land invites including: Toucans, tanagers, mott motts, agoutis, hummingbirds, and more!
